Montague Inn Bed & Breakfast

This place is absolutely incredible, especially for the price. Normally, for around a hundred dollars a night you’d get just an average hotel room — sometimes clean, sometimes not so much. But here you find yourself in a stunning mansion from the 1930s, once owned by a wealthy family, with a huge estate that stretches all the way to the lake. It’s unbelievably quiet. Honestly, it feels like something truly special. And if you ever find yourself in this town, this is probably the best hotel you can get for the money.

My wife and I stayed at the Montague Inn. They left a key for us because we arrived late. The room was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Everyone was kind and friendly.

We stayed for 3 nights here over the Christmas holiday. Such a charming place! Every staff member we encountered went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. We also enjoyed the personal tour of the mansion with local stories pertaining to the mansion. Rooms are tidy and homey and the mansion was beautifully decorated. Not much variety with breakfast, but it was included with our stay. We would definitely stay here again next time we come to Saginaw!

Gorgeous location with lots of charm! There was seven acres of beautifully manicured land surrounding this historic site. You can go for a walk down to a scenic pond. Our room was relatively simple but had all the basic amenities; comfy bed, TV and ensuite bathroom, there were options for larger rooms as well. The hot breakfast in the morning was very tasty. The price was also very reasonable. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Saginaw.

My love of old buildings and history brought me to the Inn. Joanne does a great job decorating and the best part was that all the rooms that were not rented out were open for exploration. It is an old house and heating and cooling are difficult so some rooms have a better temperature than others. If you are picky about that you may want to call and chat with them before choosing your room. I stayed in the Rust room and it was a little warm but it was almost 90 out. I cracked a window, used the provided fan and kept the curtains closed when the sun was beating in and I was comfortable. The staff is kind and willing to talk about the property and grounds. There is a bar on sight, patio seating, and a provided breakfast. There is much to do even within walking distance. I even got to see the secret passages. Definitely recommend for a romantic getaway or a solo trip. I felt perfectly safe.

Stayed one night, 3rd floor, only one with 2 beds( twin size) Staff was great, very friendly and supportive. Breakfast was more than I expected. Full banquet of breakfast foods. Would definately stay again if I'm in town. Love the library, the dining room. Lovely historic mansion. Great place for a wedding!

What a beautiful stunning home and even more amazing was the staff! Naomi and Melissa are great, I felt like I was visiting family. We had more fun at the house then exploring the city. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay and would return based on the comfort of the rooms. However, the breakfast was not delightful, and we walked away unimpressed. We encourage the owners to invest more time in this feature given the emphasis this establishment places on nurturing and delicious breakfast options.
